One of Our Own Dealing with AIDS in the Workplace Produced by Gerald T. Rogers
The One of Our Own workplace package is designed to explain in clear terms what AIDS is and how it can be spread, educate employees on how AIDS is not spread to avoid the unnecessary fear and hysteria that can seriously damage morale and productivity, and help organizations become aware of their legal and ethical obligations to workers who contract AIDS. The program illustrates these points with a human drama which unfolds in a metropolitan advertising agency after one of its most creative employees announces that he has AIDS and that he would like to continue to work as long as he is able. The viewer witnesses a predictably varied range of reactions among fellow employees as management tries to grapple with the situation and prevent a panic. In addition to this 30-minute videotape, included in the Employee Education Program are a 36-page Meeting Leader's Guide, a 27-page Guide for Management, a poster, and several brochures for employees (additional copies available). "The film is a gem, and so is each publication. The information is accurate and well organized and the photography is professionally done." - Science Books and Films Color, 30 Minutes
