Shadow of Addiction

Produced by Richard Farrell

Produced and narrated by a recovering heroin addict, this video leads the audience through the dark side of addiction. Residents of a crack house, a medium security prison, and a lone inmate on death row speak directly to the audience in explicit language. While the details vary in these graphic scenes, the theme is constant: drugs and alcohol lead to personal tragedy. Their grim present and blighted futures serve as a cautionary tale for middle school, high school, and college students. The shadows of their present tragedies reach back to a time in their early adolescence when they made choices without understanding or believing the tragic consequences.

This video is for everyone since no one is altogether free from the shadow of addiction. The people in this video are good people who made bad choices. This is a graphic look at the personal losses associated with drugs: loss of faith, family, fortune, health, education, and future. There is no escaping the conclusion that "When you do drugs, you lose. You lose everything."
