Bulimia: The Binge-Purge Obsession Produced by Eugene Ferraro Content Consultant, Anita Siegman, PhD
In this film Dr. Anita Siegman explains to high school and college students the classic chain of events that may lead a young woman into the insidious spiral of binge-purge behavior. Interwoven with Dr. Siegman's presentations are anonymous and candid interviews with a number of women who have experienced the nightmare of out-of-control eating behavior and self-induced vomiting. Their stories serve to illustrate some of the danger signs that may indicate a vulnerability to development of an eating disorder. This film is excellent for use in high school and college counseling centers and in hospital-based eating disorders programs and wellness centers. It is also appropriate for courses in health, nutrition, women's studies, psychology, and physical education. "A solid introduction to a very hot topic." - Youthworker Color, 25 minutes,
