This film teaches parents safety awareness - the need to be constantly vigilant. Parents whose children have been injured or have experienced "near misses" share their experiences. Interviews with health professionals in pediatrics and poison control highlight potentially dangerous situations that parents may not have considered. Viewers get an enlightening "child's eye" view of hazards in the home.
Also discussed are some of the responsibilities of child-care personnel in regard to child safety, kinds of food to avoid giving children under 2, and special risks posed by changes of environment since adults sometimes relax their vigilance on vacations.
