Feeling Good Again Coping with Breast Cancer Produced by SIU School of Medicine Set in the context of a style show for the mastectomy patient, this program includes frank talk by five women who have successfully recovered, both physically and emotionally, from breast cancer. Separately and together, they talk about how they conquered their fears of cancer and disfigurement. As they point out, being a part of the show is an important outward expression of their renewed self-confidence. Commentary by Norma A. Wylie, MSN, of SIU School of Medicine, helps clarify the needs of these women and others like them: the need for a sense of control in their treatment, for open talk about their feelings, and for the support of friends and family. An outstanding model for women faced with the prospect of mastectomy, this program will also help medical professionals, friends, and family members understand the need for emotional as well as physical recovery. "Ideally suited for patient education, Reach to Recovery training programs, and support groups." Oncology Nursing Forum Color, 20 minutes,
